Thread: iOS 8.0.2 is Now Available for Download

Default iOS 8.0.2 is Now Available for Download

Following yesterday's embarrassing release of iOS 8.0.1, which caused widespread issues with cellular data and Touch ID problems for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users, Apple pulled the software update from being available to users to prevent any further damage.

To rectify the issues that were in iOS 8.0.1, Apple has made iOS 8.0.2 available to download. You can now visit Settings > General > Software Update to update to iOS 8.0.2 over the air (OTA), or you can connect to iTunes to download the latest firmware.

    iOS 8.0.2 is available for:

    • iPhone 6 Plus
    • iPhone 6
    • iPhone 5s
    • iPhone 5
    • iPhone 4s
    • iPod touch 5g
    • iPad 2
    • iPad 3rd generation
    • iPad 4th generation
    • iPad mini
    • iPad mini with retina display
    • iPad Air

    What's new in iOS 8.0.2:

If you're relying on a jailbreak, beware of updating. There is no jailbreak for iOS 8 at this point in time.

Agree, but it has always makes me wonder every year why they are not actually testing to discover all or most of the issues before releasing the firmware. Always quick releases of updates, but zowie. (Love Apple but if I ran my business like that, I'd be collecting unemployment)
That was a whole bunch of fixes they were addressing.

Don't mean to be "Negative Nancy". Venting I guess as it has effect on the WOW factor of a new device.

Still nothing on the speed/battery/wifi issues. Guess they were just trying to fix 8.0.1 ASAP.

Hopefully this fixes the major wifi loss issues many of us are having on iOS 8, especially us Mini users.

8.0.1 says nothing about fixing wifi issues.

All good hear.. Disappearing keyboard and app crash issues all gone at this point.. Haven't noticed any speed increase benefits with wifi/otherwise..

I'm getting random duplicate email notification sounds in 8.0. Sounds as if the notification sound is happening twice about a millisecond off from each other. This didn't happen on my jailbroken iPhone 5. Before I switched to the 6 I did an iCloud backup and restored my 6 to that backup. Anyone else having this problem or know if it's fixed in 8.0.2? It's pretty annoying.

Did ota for my 6 about an hour ago, it's stable.
