To add a little more funk to your iOS 7 Home Screen, you might like to try a new jailbreak tweak called iMaker by iOS developer Javier Brito. iMaker can animate your Home Screen's application icons based on special criteria, and the best part is that you can customize every aspect of those animations.

The animations take place everywhere on the Home Screen, in the App Switcher, and even inside of application folders. The tweak adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can customize the animations and make the tweak work the way that you want it to:

From the preferences pane, you will find yourself with a live preview that will show you what your current animation settings will do to the application icons on your Home Screen. You can also choose what applications to animate, what animation to use, adjust the speed of the animation, and even configure special effects for your animations, including:

  • Pulse
  • Corners
  • Dip
  • Widen
  • Lengthen
  • Magic

You will also be able to adjust the speed of the individual special effects in addition to the main animation.

For more information on the individual animations, check below:

You can choose to animate any of the following applications:

  • Those that have unread notifications
  • The last 5 that have been backgrounded
  • Those have have been recently updated
  • Or, none

The animations you have to pick from include:

  • Spinner
  • Side flips
  • Flips
  • Hand stand
  • Twister
  • Flipster
  • Large jitter
  • None

iMaker has a not of options for making some fun animations, so it may be worth checking out. If you're unsure if you want to pay up for iMaker, the developer also offers a free Lite version of iMaker in Cydia, which is ad-supported and has limited animations. It will help you get the gist of the jailbreak tweak and decide if you would be interested in expanding its features by going with the paid version.

If you want to give iMaker a try, it's available right now in Cydia's BigBoss repository for $1.99. iOS 7 is required for the installation.
