Default Apple Preps Doc for Android Switchers

Can you tell Apple is anticipating a huge influx of former Android fans to its new iPhone 6 line of devices?

On the eve of iOS 8's release, Apple has just shared a new document that effectively serves as a guide to leaving Android for iOS and how to bring all of your content with you.

The comprehensive doc is available now on Apple's website.

"Ready to make the switch to iPhone? Here are some tips for moving your photos, music, documents, and more from your Android phone to iPhone," the support page description reads.

This is a first-of-its-kind move for Apple, which has never before made it so crystal clear that it's well aware of how many Android users are poised to jump ship, likely for the large-screen iPhone 6 Plus.

This is perfect for me because I'm going to be selling my phone to a family member before upgrading and I thought there was no way to transfer their dozens of contacts over.

I have a buddy who only switched to android because of the bigger screen size. He's now back to apple

There should be a way to save contacts to SIM card.
That's how I got them to my 3GS from a Motorola razor

Also iOS 8 will have a handy walk-through feature that will help anyone learn how to use their iPhone and all the core apps. Not sure if a lot of Android transfers was the reason behind it, or just improving customer experience.

I think there is a way but you can only save basic contact info on the SIM. For example, it will save the name and one number per contact and nothing else. So if you have a contact with more than one phone number, an address, birthday, etc., all that stuff won't save to the SIM because of the limited space.

Sync contacts to google on the android phone then sync same account on iphone and it moves over.

If you're a Verizon member you could just use the Verizon mobile back up (stock on droid) by downloading it to the iPhone and it's a simple like 3 step process to back up and then restore. It's only contacts but it's still the easiest way possible.
