Default Customers with iPhone 6 Reservations Told to Complete Orders Before Cancellation Period

It was a rough night for many as Apple’s preorder for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus began at 3:01am EDT (12:01am PDT) last night. However, some could not complete the preorder process as Apple had issues reaching carrier systems. For those who were unable to complete the process, reservation numbers were emailed telling them they would have time to complete the order once carrier systems were reached. These customers were notified today being asked to complete the transaction of the device they reserved.

Some customers received an e-mail giving them 24 hours to complete the transaction before the reservation gets cancelled meanwhile others have until September 14th to complete the purchase. Apple stated that the device would be removed from the reservation system if the transaction did not go through by the date given. We hope everyone was able to purchase their desired device, as we know it’s definitely a tough and frustrating process to go through. The Cupertino-based company already released statements today saying this year’s preorder sales set a new record high.

That's alright... we're not going to lose any sleep over it. Oh wait a minute...

If this is how it's going to go down then how about a 12PM pre-order next time around?

I don't think it had anything to do with the time. I think it was too much volume for the servers to handle. It was nice that Apple offered them to people that tried to order them. I wonder if Samsung would have done the same?

We're people getting this email after they purchased and confirmed their order or was it a special reservation for those that went through a carrier?

I purchased and received a conformation email. My bank account is reflecting them taking my money. I checked my inbox and junk mail. I better not get no email with this.

I don't think Samsung has a problem with server overloads during their launches. Not enough people want the phone on launch day

Yeah I got screwed over this reservation thing. It's useless to me. If I put my info in for a regular preorder I get an upgrade, if I use the reservation, it asks for full price. F that. I'll wait.

There will never be a need for Samsung to do the same.
