Default Launch of New iPhones May Be Delayed in China

It had been recently reported that Apple had plans on launching the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on September 9th in the Chinese market. However, that plan has now been delayed because the company has to receive approval on the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus before launching. The New York Times reported that Apple broke the news to sources from three Chinese mobile carriers that the devices won’t be available to the public on September 19th in China.

On Tuesday, Apple announced nine countries that would participate in the launching of the new devices and they included United States, Hong Kong, Canada, Germany, France, Singapore, United Kingdom, Japan, and Australia. As you can tell, China was absent from that list when Apple marketing chief Phil Schiller announced it. Apparently, the Cupertino-based company was aiming for a launch date of September 19th in China, however, they only told carriers recently that there was a change of plans. A China Telecom sales manager said that Apple reported, “there are some details which are not ready” but did not give any more details as to what exactly.

The report from The New York Times also said that the iPhone 6 was not yet approved to be sold and was missing from the country’s Ministry for Industry and Information Technology website. China’s Apple Online Store also does not have anything in regards to the presale of the new devices like the U.S. website does. The Chinese market is a major one, considering there were 33,000 reservations clocked by China Mobile before it was even announced by Apple on September 2nd.

that'll teach them to sell pre-orders for a device that hasn't even been announced yet, using mockup images.

"It had been recently reported that Apple had plans on launching the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on September 9th in the Chinese market."
I assume you meant the 19th.
