Default Make Tapping on Application Icons Launch Different Applications With 'Reroute'

If you want to mix up your Home Screen a little bit so that people that grab your device and start using it without your permission will have no idea what they're doing, then check out a new jailbreak tweak called Reroute by iOS developer Daniel Turner. This tweak is great for letting you encode your Home Screen application icons in a sequence that only you will understand.

Reroute allows you to configure what application icons on your Home Screen will open when tapped on. For example, you can reroute the Instagram application to open Facebook instead of Instagram, or any other application on your device to open another application on your device.

Reroute adds a preferences pane to your Settings application where you can begin configuring all of the tweak's options to your liking:

From here, you can enable and disable Reroute on demand, as well as configure what application icons will open what. The tweak gives you an interface where you can choose the application icon that you want to tap on, and then choose the application that you want that application icon to open. You can add as many different reroutes as you want to.

Reroute is definitely more of a proof of concept tweak than a practical one, but it's still a really cool thing to play with. If you want to give Reroute a try, it's available in Cydia's BigBoss repository right now for 99. iOS 7 is required for the installation.

    Name: Reroute
    Price: 99
    Version: 1.1
    Requirements: iOS 7.0-7.1.2
Tested on: iPhone 5 running iOS 7.1.2
    Repo: BigBoss
    Developer: Daniel Turner

FYI, it doesn't work on 64 bit devices.

I love the idea of this tweak. Can be extremely helpful for some people, especially me. I really hope the developer will update it to be compatible with 64 bit devices. Fingers crossed.
