If you listen to music on your iOS device, or you have other kinds of media playing, such as videos or podcasts, and you enjoy customization, then you might be interested in a new free jailbreak tweak called SoundIcons by iOS developer iakd.

SoundIcons will place a customizable equalizer animation on the application icon of any application that is currently playing sound on your iOS device. As shown above, we are playing music from Spotify, and you can see the small animated equalizer on the Spotify application icon.

Because the equalizer overlay is animated, the equalizer bars actually bounce up and down at a configurable rate. SoundIcons adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can configure all of the tweak's options:

From here, you will be able to enable and disable the tweak on demand depending on your mood, configure an animation speed, configure the width of the colored equalizer bars, configure the transparency of your equalizer bars, and configure the individual colors of each of the equalizer bars using RGB values. A respring is necessary each time you make changes here, so a respring button is included under the tweak's toggle switch.

The equalizer animation appears everywhere on your SpringBoard, including the Home Screen, within folders, and even in the App Switcher.

If you want to give SoundIcons a try, it's available for free in Cydia's BigBoss repository right now. All iOS 7 devices are supported iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.
