Default Add a Sound Visualizer and Voice Memo Creator to the Lock Screen With 'mVisualizer'

If you wish your iOS device had a sound visualizer, then today is your lucky day. A new jailbreak tweak called mVisualizer by iOS developer Javier Brito is now available and brings you a sound visualizer and more to the iOS 7 Lock Screen.

With this tweak installed, you can have a custom sound visualizer on your Lock Screen. There are a number of different visualizers to pick from; four of our favorites are shown above. The visualizer animates as your microphone picks up sound from around you it can also work along with playing music from any of your installed music applications.

In addition to bringing you a sound visualizer, mVisualizer also throws in some bonus functionality a voice memo creator right on the Lock Screen that can be accessed by tapping and holding on the Lock Screen:

When you are holding on the Lock Screen, the visualizer color will appear red while recording. When you let go of the Lock Screen, you will get the interface above on the left, allowing you to name the voice recording and choose whether or not you want to assign a reminder to it or not. If you choose to assign a reminder to it, you will be reminded of the voice recording after your set amount of time, as you can see above on the right.

After you've added it, you'll see it appear on the Voice Memo list, which is accessed from the little round button at the bottom left of the iOS 7 Lock Screen. Normally, this list would be empty, but when you save yourself a memo, it appears in this list in red you can tap on it to listen to it, share it, or edit it. You can also swipe on it to delete it:

You'll see a new preferences pane in the Settings application after you install mVisualizer. From here, you can enable or disable the tweak on demand, choose the visualizer style, configure the color, and configure the visibility with a slider:

The visualizer styles you have to pick from include:

    • Full screen
    • Sound bars
    • Quad circles
    • Pedal shifters
    • Lotus
    • Termites
    • Axiom
    • Random

The different colors that you can assign to the different animations include:

    • Average
    • Black
    • Red
    • Blue
    • Green
    • Yellow
    • Magenta
    • Purple
    • Brown
    • White
    • Orange
    • Cyan
    • Teal
    • Gold
    • Chartreuse

For sure, mVisualizer definitely is a nice way to add some cool animations to the iOS 7 Lock Screen. It doesn't seem to have any adverse effects on the device's battery life, and it's a cool feature for anyone that likes sound visualizers.

If you want to give mVisualizer a try, it's available for $1.99 in Cydia's BigBoss repository. iOS 7 is required for the installation.
