Default Five Great Jailbreak Tweaks for Improving Your iOS 7 Status Bar Experience

Your Status Bar tells you a lot – the time, your battery level, information about the signal strength of your Wi-Fi and your carrier, and more. If you're jailbroken, you can even have your Status Bar tell you more. In this post, we will show you five useful jailbreak tweaks for improving the Status Bar experience in iOS 7, so if you like customizing your Status Bar, then you'll want to read on!

Just a quick note before we get started; these tweaks are all compatible with the Pangu version 1.1.0 jailbreak for iOS 7.1.x, and will work with earlier iOS 7 jailbreaks, such as evasi0n7, as well.

    1. Circlet – 99

First on our list for Status Bar improvement is Circlet, a nice little jailbreak tweak that makes the indicators in the Status Bar more pleasant to look at. Your signal strength indicator, as well as your Wi-Fi strength indicator, and battery indicator can all be set to smaller and more compact circle-based indicators rather than the space-consuming stock indicators like the dots for signal, the long battery icon for battery life, and the wide bars icon for Wi-Fi. There are different circle style to choose from, and you can even colorize them the way that you want to. To learn more about Circlet, head over to our full review of the tweak at this link.

    2. Alkaline – FREE

Next up is Alkaline. This is a jailbreak tweak that lets you customize the battery icon with themes without having to use WinterBoard. A number of themes come with the tweak already, but many theme developers are creating all kinds of separate theme packages for Alkaline that can be downloaded individually from Cydia at no cost to you. Once installed, they can be applied to your battery for an awesome effect that looks so much nicer than that boring stock icon you're always used to seeing. To learn more about Alkaline, head over to our full review of the tweak at this link.

    3. Zeppelin – FREE

It'd be hard to recommend any Status Bar tweaks without recommending Zeppelin. This tweak has proven its popularity among the jailbreak community by allowing users to change the carrier logo with any image that they like. The tweak comes with plenty of built-in icons to use, but like Alkaline, theme developers can create their own Zeppelin icons to go along with their themes and host them in Cydia as separate packages that can add-on to the Zeppelin experience – much of them being free offerings. It's definitely a way to add some character to your iOS 7 Status Bar, so give it a shot if you haven't already! 4. DuplexClock – FREE

Our Status Bar houses the current time, but a lot of us have family members in another state or even country where the time zones aren't the same, and when we need to keep in touch with them, it would be handy to be able to see more than one time at once from a glance. A free jailbreak tweak called DuplexClock adds a secondary clock to the iOS 7 Status Bar that you can configure the format to. You can set the time zone to whatever you want it to be, and whenever you need to see your time alongside someone else's time, it'll be there for you. It's a pretty neat tweak for anyone that needs to keep track of two times at once and it's easy to set up. To learn more about DuplexClock, head over to our full review of the tweak at this link.

    5. MyStatusBar – $1.49

Last, but certainly not least, we'd like to take the time to share MyStatusBar with you. This is the king of all Status Bar customization tweaks for iOS 7. This tweak lets you hide or show just about anything you can think of in the Status Bar. You can customize the appearance of your Status Bar clock, customize what icons are allows to display, customize now playing text, allow the RAM to show next to the time, add custom animated text, configure the Status Bar separately from the Lock Screen, and do a whole lot more. It seems to be one of the most in-depth Status Bar-specific customization tweaks out there that we've yet seen for iOS 7, so be sure to check it out! To learn more about MyStatusBar, head over to our full review of the tweak at this link.

All of these tweaks have been tested to make sure that they're compatible with the latest Pangu 1.1.0 jailbreak; they may not all be compatible with one another.

StatusModifier is the only tweak I've found that let's you put the date along with the time (vast number of formats available).

    MyStatusBar does this also!

MyStatusBar is long overdue an update as well along with some bug fixes - I am currently moving house but aim to release a decent update during August.

Many thanks to purchasers and supporters, and of course ModMyI
