Default Colorize the Navigation Bar of Certain Apps to Match the App Icon With 'aBar'

Many of your applications in iOS 7 will colorize the navigation bar to match the color of the application icon, such as Facebook, Twitter, Shazam, ModMyi, and many more. Apple's applications, on the other hand, all seem to retain their white navigation bars.

If you would like for the navigation bars of most of your applications to be colored in the same color as the application icon of the application that you're opening, then you need to try a new jailbreak tweak called aBar by iOS developer Marvin Schwalzik.

With this tweak, even those boring white navigation bars can be colored, as shown above. For example, the Music application with its pink-ish application icon now displays a pink navigation bar, the Settings application with its gray application icon now displays a gray navigation bar, the Messages application with its green application icon now displays a green navigation bar, and this works for several other applications on your device as well, including both stock and third-party applications.

The idea behind this tweak is give your device some individuality so that everything doesn't feel all uniform and boring. It definitely does a nice job of this, but one thing that the tweak doesn't compensate for is contrasting colors. We've noticed that in some applications, the color change is very stark, but so stark that you can't read the title or navigation buttons. This is obviously a bug that will have to be worked out in a future update, but it's still a cool tweak nonetheless.

If you would like to give aBar a try, it's available in Cydia's BigBoss repository right now for $1.00. The tweak supports iOS 7 only. There are no options to configure.
