Chalk up another big retail score for Apple's iBeacon.

According to published reports Monday, the latest "get" for Apple's iBeacon sensors is Lord & Taylor. The venerable retailer will make available this week iBeacon's utility at U.S. stores and various Hudson's Bay stores in Canada.

All told, L&T are now among the growing list of prominent retailers looking to give consumers a cutting- in-store shopping experience through the power of mobile.

"We recognize the appetite for mobile experiences that cater to our customers' immediate needs and preferences while also providing a seamless and effortless experience," said Michael Crotty, Chief Marketing Officer for Hudson's Bay Company and Lord & Taylor, in a news release shared with MMi.

Critty calls Beacon technology "the future of retail marketing."
