Default 'BookSong' Keeps Your Place in a Song You're Listening to When You Respring

Whenever you respring your device while you're in the middle of playing any music, you will find that your music needs to start all the way from the beginning when your device turns back on and you head over to your Music application. This can be frustrating if you were just jamming out and you had a respring interrupt your music.

Fortunately, with a new free jailbreak tweak called BookSong by iOS developer Hayden Hunter, you can now make it so that when you respring your device, your progress in a song is saved, or "bookmarked," so that when you go back to your music application after respringing, you can continue playing where you left off.

You can see in the image below what we're talking about; in the Music application, you will have a song scrubber that shows you the progress of the song. When you respring, this scrubber normally returns to the beginning, but with this tweak installed, it will stay where it was when you resprung your device the very next time you go into your Music application:

While the idea behind the tweak is cool, we wish that the tweak could make the Music application automatically resume playing the music where it left off and not only just bookmark where you left off and make you press play manually. Perhaps this is something that could be implemented in the future.

BookSong doesn't have any options to configure. It's one of those simple tweaks that you can install and it 'just works.' If you would like to give it a try, it's available for free right now in Cydia's BigBoss repository.

I downloaded when I first saw it in my cydia list once sources updated,
In terms of auto resume of music playing, I have got activator set to auto play once Bluetooth connected to my dock so no need to press play.

Sent from my iPhone using ModMyi

Works great for the native music player, but it'd be nice if it worked on third party apps, too. And yeah, having it automatically restart after respring would be ideal.
