Default Xiaomi Surpasses iPhone App Usage in China

It has been noted already that iPhone users have always been the bigger users of web browsing and spending time in apps. However, Flurry, a mobile analytics company reports that a popular China mobile Android brand has finally caught up, called Xiaomi. According to the company,

Over the past 6 years, the average Apple iPhone consumer has spent more time in apps than consumers of every Android device we track- by a wide margin. This year, it looks like the story is about to change. In an analysis we conducted on a random sample of 23,000 devices in China throughout January 2014, we found that Xiaomi is now in the lead as far as time-spent in apps is concerned.
The CEO of the company has had similar tactics as Steve Jobs, and has even spent time using similar approaches in marketing as Apple. The company recently also announced a similar tablet as the iPad, called the Mi Pad. Apple has pretty much ignored the phone and marketing antics of China’s Xiaomi in order to keep good relationships with China. However, it has been reported that they are working towards releasing international expansion plans, and in which case, Apple may have step in at some point.
