Default Apple CEO Tim Cook Announces iOS 8 Voice Messaging Feature

It was reported that UBS analyst Steven Milunovich said that Apple CEO Tim Cook is keen on Chinese-style voice messaging in a research note that was issued recently. Fortune reported that the voice messaging allows users to dictate messages to their mobile device before sending. Milunovich thinks that connecting such a feature to a device worn on the wrist ‘makes sense.’ Milunovich states:

When we visited with Tim Cook, he said that walking down streets in China, one sees people speaking into their phones sending voice rather than text messages. It also could aid penetration of China, which Cook said has a ways to go.
Voice messaging is not currently built into Apple’s iOS 7, even though speech-to-text-dictation is featured in it. Other apps like Facebook Messenger has incorporated the feature as well. Apple has included voice-messaging technology in the upcoming iOS 8 Messages app. The mobile OS will allow users to record a voice message by using a single tapping and holding gesture, then by swiping users can either send or cancel the message.

The built in messaging app will also allow users to send video messages in a similar way. Although Cook did not announce the iWatch in the meeting, Milunovich believes that the upcoming iOS 8 voice messaging capabilities may be a main feature in the rumored wrist wearing device. Rumors are spreading that the iWatch will be released in October, so lots of speculation are going around as to what Apple will be doing with the dubbed wearable.

I honestly have to say it's about time. That was something I used a lot on the SG2 (Samsung). The app called GoChat also has but not everyone has a JB iPhone or uses 3rd party apps, and sometimes a text just doesn't get the full conversations emotion.

Yeah this isn't new. And Tim didn't announce the feature, the other guy did. What's his name? The guy who said "it's really handy" about 1,000 times for every single feature.
