Default 'ShoutDown' Lets You Shout At Your iOS Device to Perform Certain Actions

A tweak that lets us shout our brains out at our iOS device to make it do useful stuff is now available in Cydia called ShoutDown by iOS developer Adolfoi_.

Whether you're feeling crabby, or you're training to become a full-time drill sergeant, this tweak will make it so you can yell at your device so you can watch it perform handy actions in sheer agony of your yelling voice.

ShoutDown can make your device respring, reboot, power off, or lock itself whenever you yell at your device. It's Activator-based, so you will need to toggle the tweak on to yell at it. When you toggle the tweak on, you will get a notification that says the tweak has been turned on (the same happens when you toggle it off you will get a notification saying that you the tweak has been turned off):

Once you get the toggle notification, you can shout at your device. You can pretty much say anything you want. The tweak is looking for any loud noises that sound like someone shouting, and when it hears the sound it's looking for, it will perform the action you choose.

You don't have to worry about the tweak making things happen when you don't want them to if you're in a loud area, because once you use the tweak, it is disabled again, so you will need to re-enable it with Activator.

The tweak adds a preferences pane to your Settings application where you can configure your own volume level, and configure what will happen when you shout at your device:

The higher the volume, the louder you'll have to shout. The lower the volume, the softer your shout can be and your device will still pick it up. Try not to scream so hard at your device that you'll shatter the display, because that would just be... well... bad.

You'll also have to go into Activator and assign ShoutDown an action so you can toggle it on or off:

We understand that shouting at your device might not be your cup of tea, or that sometimes you may be in a quiet area and shouting at your device might make you look like you have a problem, so for some, this tweak might not be for you. But for those of you that are short tempered and just want your device to comply with your loud demands, this is the tweak for you...

If you would like to give this tweak a try, it's available in Cydia's BigBoss repository for 99. It supports all versions of iOS 7 and if you don't have Activator installed already, it will be installed alongside ShoutDown.

I wonder if this can be used as an alternate to iOS 8's "Hey Siri" feature? If so... this tweak would have a "1 up" on the iOS 8 feature (not requiring the device to be connected to power).

Nevermind... I just read the whole article. It's a one time user by way of an activator feature... and then disables until you activate it again? no thanks.
