Default Microsoft Updates Skype for iOS Following Recent Major 5.0 Release

Following the major 5.0 update to the Skype application for iPhone and iPod touch last week that the Microsoft had been teasing for days prior, the company has issued another update for the application in the iOS App Store dubbed version 5.1 with a number of improvements to make the user experience better and to answer the demands of its users.

In version 5.1, users of Skype for iPhone and iPod touch are finally able to remove their conversations from the application, a feature that Microsoft had originally overlooked and promised to add in an upcoming update. Deleting a message is done by tapping and holding on a conversation to remove it from the Recent tab.

The update also makes it so that you can edit messages that you send. You have been able to do this in previous versions of Skype for iOS, as well as on the desktop version of the application, but Skype 5.0 seemed to skip this feature. To edit a message in Skype 5.1, you can tap and hold on a message you sent in a conversation to bring up the option to edit it.

Other improvements in Skype 5.1 include the ability to add new favorite contacts via the favorites tab, improvements to the VoiceOver functionality, and additional bug fixes to improve the stability of the application.

If you're an existing user of the Skype application for iPhone and iPod touch, then you'll find the update under the Updates tab in the App Store application. Alternatively, you can download the latest version of Skype for iPhone and iPod touch for free from this App Store link.

I hope they add 3-way calling ability via iOS at some point. I know it's possible as long as one person is on a real computer for 3-way, but iPhone to iPhone to iPhone would be nice. (if possible)
