Default 'ClockFirst' Lets You See the Clock First On the Lock Screen While Listening to Music

iOS makes it so that whenever you're listening to music on your device and you visit the Lock Screen, the music controls are always the first thing you see. You can press the Home Button to reveal the Lock Screen clock on the Lock Screen rather than the music controls.

For some, this is rather annoying, because the clock might be a much more important feature of the Lock Screen to some iOS users than the music controls while the user is listening to music especially if you're just using the music to pass some time.

A new free jailbreak tweak called ClockFirst by iOS developer Ron Thakrar will actually reverse this feature so that when you're listening to music, the Lock Screen clock appears first on the Lock Screen when you choose to visit it. If you want to use your music controls, rather than them being immediately available to you like before, you'll have to press the Home Button to reveal them.

ClockFirst adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can enable or disable the tweak on demand:

If you'd like to give ClockFirst a try, it's available for free right now in Cydia's BigBoss repository. The tweak requires iOS 7 to be installed, and works on both 32-bit and 64-bit iOS devices.

    Name: ClockFirst

All you have to do is press the home button and it'll show you the clock instead of the music controls. If you're desperate to know the time this tweak might save you a quarter of a second? Doesn't really seem worth it to me.

    It's a convenience thing.

    Sometimes the small details matter.

This ain't even about the app.

I thought that album cover said, "Scotty McCreepy."
