Default 'Arise' Adds a Number of Handy New Features to Your iOS Alarms

If you use alarms on your iOS device on a daily basis, then you could probably benefit from the added features of a new jailbreak tweak dubbed Arise by iOS developer NG.

Arise is intended to make waking up, by way of alarm, much less stressful each morning. The tweak adds options such as custom alarm volumes on a per-alarm basis, the ability to have an alarm automatically dismissed after a period of time, and the ability to choose a fade-in alarm sound effect over the course of a custom duration that you choose.

The tweak adds a new set of options to the alarm interface in the Clock application, as you can see above. You can enable or disable the custom alarm volume and then choose what the volume will be with a slider.

You can also set a custom time for an alarm to become automatically dismissed if not acknowledged. Those custom times include:

    • Never
    • 15 seconds
    • 30 seconds
    • 45 seconds
    • 1 minute
    • 1:30 minutes
    • 2 minutes
    • 3 minutes

In addition, if you're not ready to be awoken in the morning by a sudden loud sound coming from your night stand, then you can choose to have your iOS device fade in the alarm sound, starting with a low-volume alarm and getting significantly louder over a duration of time until you acknowledge the alarm. It will only get as loud as your custom volume level allows. You can choose from any of the following durations:

    • Instant
    • 15 seconds
    • 30 seconds
    • 45 seconds
    • 1 minute
    • 1:30 minutes
    • 2 minutes
    • 3 minutes

It is worth mentioning that Arise is fully compatible with the popular Snooze jailbreak tweak for alarms, and that everything integrates seamlessly into the Clock application in iOS 7. There are no additional options to configure apart from what you'll find in the Clock application.

If you would like to give Arise a try for easing your stressful mornings of having to wake up with an alarm, then you'll find the tweak in Cydia's BigBoss repository for just 99. iPhone, iPod touch, and even the iPad are supported.

Is it just me or do the modmyi video demonstrations sound a little slow... Maybe cause I'm in canada and never hear the hard southern accent.
