Default 'AlbumSnapper' Lets You Easily Organize Your Photos as You Take Them

When you take photos in iOS, your pictures are saved to your Camera Roll, and you will be able to create different albums in the Photos application later on where you can move those photos to after you've taken them.

On the other hand, wouldn't it be nice if iOS automatically saved your photos to a specific album of your choice, rather than you needing to go and move them to another album later on? That's the idea behind an incredible new jailbreak tweak dubbed AlbumSnapper by iOS developer Brandson Sachs.

With the tweak installed, you will notice a new button at the top of your Camera application interface labeled "Album." You can tap on this button to choose the destination of any photos that you take from here on out.

In our example, we have three albums Camera Roll, ModMyi, and iPhone. By default, photos go to our Camera Roll, but if we choose "ModMyi" instead, any photos that we take will be saved to the ModMyi album so we don't have to move them there later on. It's worth mentioning that when you select a different album besides the Camera Roll, the name of that album is highlighted in orange and the "Album" label turns gold instead of white.

A "Create New Album" button is also included in the menu so that you can create a new album on the fly you will then be able to save to that new album if you wanted to.

From the tweak's preferences pane, which is added to the Settings application, you can configure a few options:

You can enable or disable the tweak on demand for your own convenience, choose to have the tweak remember the album you choose every time you open your Camera application rather than letting it reset each time you use it, enable or disable the "Create New Album" feature from the menu, and enable or disable automatically selecting an album that you just made using that feature.

For sure, this is a tweak that many people using the Camera application in iOS 7 could benefit from. It works on both 32-bit and 64-bit iOS devices, but not iPads. If you'd like to give the tweak a try, it's available in Cydia's BigBoss repository for just 99.

when you synch with iPhoto, do the albums persist in iPhoto? or do all the photos need to be organized again?
