If you'd like an easy way to adjust your brightness, you can use a new free jailbreak tweak called Brightness4Activator by iOS developer DjKira. Brightness4Activator works with Activator by Ryan Petrich to make it so you can easy adjust your display brightness from anywhere.

While iOS 7's Control Center is easily accessible from anywhere, if you chose to hide the Brightness widget from Control Center with some other jailbreak tweak to make room for third-party Control Center add-ons, or you disable Control Center outright, then Brightness4Activator could be very useful.

The tweak adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can configure the Activator actions of your choice, as well as configure some additional options:

From here, you can choose the maximum brightness level that you can set with Brightness4Activator and choose the minimum brightness level that you can set with Brightness4Activator. You can also set an Activator action for each. You will need to respring the device after making changes here, so a respring button is included in the preferences pane for you.

If you'd like to give Brightness4Activator a try, it's available for free right now in Cydia's ModMyi repository. Activator will not be installed with the tweak, although it's required, so if you don't have it already, you may have to install it manually.
