In a recent announcement right after Apple bought out Beats Music, an update to the iOS app states that new users can take advantage of an extended 2-week trial period and decreased yearly subscription pricing. Version 2.1 of Beats Music is about availability and pricing as opposed to new features. However, the company was able to pack many bug fixes into the latest update and an app is now available on its rival smartphone platform, Android.

First time users of the app can now test it out for 14 days before deciding if they would like purchase or not, according to Beats. The sample period has been extended by 7-days since it’s initial release in January. The Apple-owned company has also decreased the subscription pricing from $119.88 a year to $99.99 a year. Beats previously marketed the subscription as $9.99 per month, but with the new price, it comes out to be about $8.30 per month.

Beats Music mentions many unnamed bug fixes that are in the latest version of the app, to ensure users that their experience “runs as smooth as silk.” It was only recently announced that Apple would acquire Beats Electronics and Beats Music for $3 billion.
