Last month, we showed you a jailbreak tweak called TapToUnlock7 that allowed you to tap on your Lock Screen instead of slide to unlock the iOS 7 Lock Screen.

Unfortunately the tweak came with a price tag, and if you're looking for a free solution to tapping to unlock the iOS 7 Lock Screen, then the wait is now over. A new free jailbreak tweak called TouchPass by iOS developer Phillip Tennen is now available that will let you tap on the Lock Screen to unlock the device.

Shown above, the tweak changes to the "slide to unlock" text so that it says "tap to unlock," and you will need to tap on the text in order to get past the Lock Screen. Since you have to tap on the text, and not anywhere else on the Lock Screen, this also helps in keeping you from accidentally unlocking your device while it's in your pocket.

TouchPass gracefully introduces you to your Home Screen with a gentle unlock animation after you tap.

TouchPass doesn't have any options to configure, and if you would like to give the tweak a try, it's available for free right now in Cydia's BigBoss repository. The tweak requires that you have iOS 7 installed. You can view the tweak's source code on GitHub at this link.
