Default 'AutoDisabler' Controls Your Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Automatically for Optimal Battery Life

Since your battery life on your iOS device is probably precious to you, you might have something to gain from a new jailbreak tweak called AutoDisabler by iOS developer xsahoo.

AutoDisabler will automatically turn off your Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth whenever they're not in use after a certain period of time to help reduce your battery consumption. You will have full control over the timeout period, making for a great customizable battery-saving solution while you're abroad and not able to use either.

The tweak will add a preferences pane to your Settings application where you can enable or disable the tweak on demand, as well as configure the timeout periods for both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth individually:

You can enable or disable the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth sections individually as well, so you can choose to only turn Wi-Fi off after the timeout period and leave Bluetooth turned on, or vice-versa. You can configure the timeout period for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth individually to be as precise as you want, using hours, minutes, and even seconds. You can then go back to the main preferences pane to save your settings. No respring is necessary.

The way this tweak works is simple. After you have set a custom timeout period or your choice, such as 1 hour for Wi-Fi for example, if you fail to connect to a Wi-Fi network after one hour, your device's Wi-Fi radio will be turned off automatically, as it will assume that you're not going to use Wi-Fi for a while. The same would happen for Bluetooth if you configured it in a similar way.

Unfortunately, the tweak doesn't turn Wi-Fi or Bluetooth back on automatically you would have to use your own means of toggling them back on, such as Control Center, or a jailbreak tweak. It would be cool to see some kind of smart way of re-enabling the features when they are needed.

If you would like to try AutoDisabler to save some of your battery life while abroad, it's available right now in Cydia's BigBoss repository for 99. The tweak runs on iOS 6 and later.

I agree! It would be very nice if it could reconnect by itself. Like if you open google, it would check for known SSID! If not, use 2G/3G/4G
