Default How to Add a Translate Widget to Your Installation of ProWidgets

Last month, we showed you a really cool extensible widget platform called ProWidgets by iOS developer Alan Yip. If you remember, we shared with you that the platform is open for third-party developers to create their own widgets and release in Cydia for users to download and use.

For those that find the ability to easily translate text from one language to another very useful, iOS developer Tim Perin has released a new free widget for ProWidgets called Translate ProWidget.

Shown above, Translate ProWidget provides a very simple interface for translating text quickly and easily. You can enter the text that you want to translate, and then you can tap on the output language feature to choose the language you want to translate it to. Tapping on the Close button will cancel your translation, while tapping on the Search button will translate the text.

When you translate the text, you will get a larger interface that takes up the entire display that shows the translation output. Additionally, there is a handy "Tap to Speak" function at the top of of the widget that will speak the translation text so you can hear it.

Translate ProWidget supports 26 different languages, and it's super easy to use. ProWidgets, the tweak supports several different ways of opening different widgets. If you're an Activator fan, then you can assign an Activator action to Translate ProWidget. Alternatively, you can use CCLoader to add a quick shortcut to Control Center, or you can configure some of the built-in ProWidgets shortcuts for Notification Center without installing more tweaks like we did below:

Translate ProWidget will certainly come in handy for those ProWidgets users out there that don't want to have an additional application icon on their Home Screen for Google Translate. You don't even have to have the Google Translate application installed to use this widget. If you would like to give it a try, it's available for free in Cydia's BigBoss repository. The widget does require that you have ProWidgets installed, which is a $2.99 purchase from Cydia's BigBoss repository if you don't already own it.

No, they are saving exploits for iOS 8. You can do a tethered iPhone 4 jailbreak though.
