You know you can just hold volume up while booting and you'll boot into safe mode, then access Cydia and just remove the conflicting tweak, and you're back to JBken and no need to sacrifice the jailbreak.

You know that method doesn't always work! If the boot process is busted somehow you end up on the apple logo.
I've been in the same situation on 6X! It's due to Dodgey tweaks...lesson learnt I hardly run any at all...

Install SSH so you always have the option to uninstall it via USB even when you are in a boot loop/stuck at boot logo

Nah, but maybe if you didn't want to be such a ***** you could learn how to uninstall tweaks via SSH.

No problems at all on my iPad Air running 7.1 but I'm leaving my iPhone 5s jailbroken, too many tweaks and options to give up.

Get used to buggy software, as IOS or any OS gets more and more features (bloated) it becomes more complex and increasingly difficult to debug, just add a bunch of different models and the complexity continues to rise. Apple will need to end-of-life their products sooner (n-1) in order to manage the mayhem.
