Default 'ScramblePass' Randomizes the Passcode Button Positioning Each Time You Unlock iOS

When you have a passcode set in iOS, you'll notice that every time you unlock your iOS device, the passcode keys are always in the same position on the Lock Screen when you go to enter your passcode.

For people that like to look over your shoulder to see what keys you've tapped on, this makes it that much easier to remember where you tapped and guess your passcode.

A new free jailbreak tweak called ScramblePass by iOS developer Stevie Hetelekides is now available in Cydia that will scramble the positioning of the passcode keys on the Lock Screen randomly each time you go to unlock your device in the hopes of improving your iOS device security.

This way, when someone looks over your shoulder and sees you tap on two passcode keys on the right side of the screen and then two passcode keys on the left side of the screen, you can be sure that when they try and unlock your device using that same sequence, the numbers they tap on aren't going to the be same as the numbers that you tapped on.

ScramblePass doesn't have any options to configure and it is compatible with all iOS 7 devices. If you would like to give it a try, it's available for free right now in Cydia's BigBoss repository.

Interesting idea. Of course the scrambled key pattern slows you down giving snoops more time to see.

Another JB tweak so common-sensical it will probably be incorporated by Apple in a future iOS.
