Default 'PhoneProtect' Lets You Password Protect Your Phone and Messages Apps

You've got to hate it when people get ahold of your iPhone and start going into your Messages and Phone applications. Sometimes you don't really want to set a passcode because it'll make using your iPhone for quick and simple tasks more cumbersome, but at the same time, you need some security so people aren't going through your histories.

One free solution is to lock down only your Phone and Messages applications with a new free jailbreak tweak called PhoneProtect by iOS developer MoonWolf.

With this tweak installed, you will be asked to enter an Android-style pattern passcode each time you try to open your Phone or Messages application. You can open other applications normally without any kind of passcode confirmation.

The tweak adds an application to the Home Screen that you can launch to configure your security options:

Here, you can enable or disable password security for either your Phone application or your Messages application, or both. You can also configure your pattern passcode. You will need to enter the pattern passcode that you set in order to make any changes in this application, and you can change your pattern passcode at any time from the "Change Password" option.

The tweak is ad-supported, but you will be able to buy out the ads from the application that is put on your Home Screen.

Notably, while the tweak seems to work alright, it's a little buggy sometimes in recognizing your passcode as you draw it. If you want to give it a try anyways, it's available for free right now in Cydia's BigBoss repository.

Ppl are better off downloading Locky0urApp and AppLocket because you can lock messages, phone, and any other of your apps that you choose
