Default 'Gestr' Lets You Use Hand-drawn Gestures as Application Shortcuts

When you're somewhere in iOS and want to get to an application very quickly, a new jailbreak tweak called Gestr by iOS developer Mathew Huusko V will not only come in handy, but it will be a really cool way to launch applications as well.

Once installed, you will be able to assign any application any gesture that you want. The tweak doesn't add any preference panes to the Settings application, but you will need to assign Gestr to an Activator action:

Once you go to the Home Screen and try Gestr out, you'll be given the message that you need to assign gestures to applications to get started:

Since you have no gestures assigned, you will need to open an application, then use the Activator action you assigned to Gestr, and then you will get the interface below:

In this case, we want to assign the Settings application a gesture so that we can get to the Settings application from anywhere. So we opened the Settings application, and we double-tapped on the Status Bar (because that's the Activator action that we assigned to Gestr), and Gestr came up telling us to draw a gesture that will be assigned to this application.

We assigned it a "U" shape by drawing a "U" shape and then tapping on the "Assign" button. So now, if we're on the Home Screen, or in another application entirely, we can use our Activator action, then draw the "U" shape, and it will send us to the Settings application:

Notice how the tweak says "Settings 92%" at the bottom left. That's because the tweak is telling us that our shape mostly resembles the gesture we set for the Settings application, and it's also saying that it's 92% accurate of our original drawing.

You can set as many gesture-based shortcuts as you want to, and you can use the shortcuts anywhere in iOS. This is a great way to multitask if you can remember all of your gestures, and not only that, but it looks really awesome. If you want to give Gestr a try, it's available in Cydia's BigBoss repository for 99. The tweak is compatible with both iOS 6 and iOS 7.

Doesn't work with barrel installed. Gesture just make barrel switch screens or icons jump.
