Default 'ColorBadges' Colorizes Your Notification Badges to Match Your Application Icons

If you're into subtle customization like I am, then check our ColorBadges by iOS developer David Goldman; it's one of those "little, but pleasant" jailbreak tweaks that has been made available in Cydia recently that is worth checking out.

Shown above, ColorBadges will automatically colorize all of your incoming notification badges to match the dominant color of your application icons. For example, the black color of the Tally Pro icon creates a black icon badge, the blue color of the Twitter icon creates a blue icon badge, and the green color of the Messages icon creates a green icon badge.

Not only does the color of your notification badge change, but the tweak also puts a border around the badge to help increase the contrast and make it easy to read on the application icon with the matching color.

The tweak also works with folders. The tweak will take the color of the application icon with the highest numeric notification badge in that folder and use that color on the outside of the folder. So if you have both Messages and Twitter in the same folder, but you have 3 Twitter notifications and 5 unread messages in your Messages application, the folder will have a green notification badge because the Messages application has the highest amount of notifications.

ColorBadges is fully compatible with both stock iOS application icons, and also with third-party Cydia themes, such as ayecon. There are no options to configure. The tweak requires iOS 7 to be installed, and can be installed on both 32-bit and 64-bit iOS devices. If you want to give it a try, it's available for just 99 in Cydia's BigBoss repository.

This is by far the most aesthetically pleasing notification badge mod I've seen for iOS. Excellent work!
They can have my jailbreak when they pry it from my cold dead fingers.

Or you could get Boover for free which does all this and more. Boover also has the ability to let you pick a custom color and badge position.

This mod changes the color of each badge to match the dominant color of the icon it accompanies. Boover lets you pick a single color and applies that to all badges. Totally different concept and implementation.

Exactly. There are many ways to universally change the badge color (and location), but this is the first one that does it adaptively. When combined with some of the design tweaks (themes) out there, this is just phenomenal. Well worth the buck!

Well one boover update ago you two may have been correct. But Boover just added this ability for the badge color to adapt to its icon, so yes it does have this ability.
Apples taste good. PwnApples taste better!
