Default 'NCWeather' Adds a Great-looking Weather Widget to Your iOS 7 Notification Center

With iOS 7, Apple removed the Weather widget from Notification Center. If you'd like to get it back, but with an iOS 7-style spin put on it, then check out a new add-on for Notification Center called NCWeather by iOS developer Thomas Finch.

Shown above, NCWeather adds a very beautiful, iOS 7-style widget to your Notification Center in iOS 7. The widget starts by showing the current temperature and weather conditions for your current location, but if you tap on the widget once, you'll be given a five-hour weather forecast that includes the temperature and weather conditions. If you tap on the widget once more, you'll be given a five-day weather forecast that includes the high and low for the week, as well as the weather conditions.

The widget can be easily enabled or disabled on demand from the Notification Center preferences pane in the Settings application. From here, you can also re-order the widgets in Notification Center, including NCWeather, so that it shows up in Notification Center exactly where you want it to show up:

NCWeather will be handy for anyone that really wants the added Weather information in Notification Center, and the fact that it's modeled after the icons in the iOS 7 and Yahoo Weather applications makes it even more attractive to the eyes. If you want to give NCWeather a try, it's available in Cydia's BigBoss repository for 99. It's compatible with all iOS 7 devices.

    Name: NCWeather
    Price: 99
    Version: 1.0-1
    Requirements: iOS 7.0-7.0.5
Tested on: iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.4
    Repo: BigBoss
    Developer: Thomas Finch
    Editor's Rating:  5/5

    1. No, but you can turn off "Today Information". But you'll loose the "next up" in your calender.
    2. No, it changes the views to 5 hour and then 5 day views.

Found an small issue. After installing, the Forecast tweak won't display the weather. I'm emailing that dev as well, but be aware for the weather bugs out there like myself that can't ever get enough.

Reinstalling Forecast didn't resolve the issue either.

Yes it's buggy. It won't show on my device (widget is there but there is no data displayed).

Also noticed the conflict with Forecast. I tried uninstalling Forecast to see if that would allow NCWeather to work, but no luck.

Emailed the developer several days ago already but there is no update yet.

It's a bit disappointing for a paid app that doesn't work out of the box.

I wonder why this isn't working for you. It seemed to work perfectly fine for me.

I don't understand why they removed the weather widget from the NC in iOS 7? Such a dumb move. That was one of my main reasons to look at the NC. Name: dunce.gif

Def working well and it updates for new location. Make sure GPS is on (which I'm sure it is) and do a full reboot. Hope that helps.

Provides the last update rather than a blank, but it would fail to gather new data at the predetermined interval. So not sure after that period of time elapses.
