Default 'LockScreen Extender' Lets You Set a Custom Lock Screen Dim Delay

If you're looking for a way to set a custom Lock Screen dim delay so that you can look at your Lock Screen widgets or view your wallpaper for longer periods of time without having to keep your screen alive by pressing the home or power button, then you need a new jailbreak tweak called LockScreen Extender by iOS developer FreeApple.

Once you install this tweak, you'll get the preferences pane shown above in the Settings application. From here, you can enable or disable the tweak on demand, choose a dim delay time for regular circumstances, choose a dim delay time for when your iOS device is plugged into a power source, and hide or show the Lock Screen time and date.

The regular delay time is the time Lock Screen dim delay time that takes effect whenever your iOS device is not connected to a power source. You should customize this setting with care, as you don't want to apply a battery-eating Lock Screen dim delay time or else you'll just smack yourself later. With the docked dim delay time option, you can set it to just about anything you want and won't have to worry about your battery life, because your iOS device is already plugged in.

    The options you have include:

    • 20 seconds
    • 30 seconds
    • 40 seconds
    • 50 seconds
    • 1 minute
    • 2 minutes
    • 3 minutes
    • 5 minutes
    • 1 hour
    • Forever (docked only)

This tweak, with its hide date and clock option, is obviously intended for those that use lock screen widgets, but there are probably other uses out there, as you could well imagine. If you want to give LockScreen Extender a try, it's available in Cydia's ModMyi repository for 99.

20Second Lockscreen has been updated to ios7. It's free and you can set the delay freely.

Just tried 20 Second Lockscreen and it does work with a 5S running 7. I uses Springtomize (which costs more than the above) to remove clock and date. However, if you don't have Springtomize, this would be a good cheap way to both extend the dim delay AND remove clock/date.

I used 20 second lockscreen just a couple days ago and it wasn't updated for iOS 7 yet. Now this program comes along (which I almost bought) until I just saw that the other program was recently updated.

On a related note it would be nice if Cydia would organize its contents based on iOS version. Unless you want to read the changes page every single day since the jailbreak, it's difficult to know what's for 7.
