Default WinZip Updated for iOS 7, Touts a Slew of New Features

WinZip Computing has finally updated its WinZip application for iOS which lets users access archived ZIP files on the go, create new ones and more. Now available in the App Store with both a free and paid version, WinZip 3.0 brings out the all-new flattened interface that feels very natural on iOS 7, with AirDrop support making it easy to share ZIP archives between the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices using Apple’s new AirDrop peer-to-peer sharing technology found in iOS 7.

The updated version of the app also allows you to upload files to your Dropbox and download them on your device, copy or send sharable links of files in Dropbox, take advantage of an improved workflow making it easier to manage your ZIP files on iOS devices and more. Furthermore, the new interface fits in well with iOS 7.

The Dropbox integration also enables WinZip users to add a new folder, as well as archive, unarchive and delete files in your Dropbox folder. Those of you who are fans of Dropbox will be pleased to now that they can now perform common ZIP tasks directly on the files residing in their Dropbox.

The WinZip team seems to have redone the app’s logic for better file management with the new iteration. As a result, common tasks such as deleting, copying, zipping and unzipping are now easier to access. Users can also add a new folder and access their recently opened files within the app. Last but not least, this version of WinZip also includes direct email access to helpdesk, should any issues occur when using the program.

The Pro version of the app is $4.99 and it removes all advertising and enables Dropbox integration. Both the free and the paid version of the app require iOS 7 or later.

Ifile even uses 7-zip which is what should be used. It's free and gets the job done easily.
