Default 'GrayNC' Replaces the Linen Notification Center Background With Transparent Gray

To those looking to change the style of Notification Center, a new free jailbreak tweak dubbed GrayNC by iOS developer Thomas Finch is now available.

GrayNC is very simple. It replaces the linen background style of Notification Center in iOS 6 with a transparent dark gray color, as shown above.

The effects of the tweak are very similar to BlurriedNCBackground, but there is no blur effect added to Notification Center; just the transparency is added.

With no options to configure GrayNC is very low maintenance and easy to use. It looks good too. If you would like to give GrayNC a try, it's available for free in Cydia's BigBoss repository.

    Name: GrayNC
    Price: FREE
    Version: 1.0-1
    Requirements: iOS 6.0+
    Repo: BigBoss
    Developer: Thomas Finch
    Editor's Rating:  3/5

why would you do this, it's a tweak that will use resources; just replace the image:

    Manually

    [email protected]

    System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app

    delete BulletinListLinen.cpbitmap from:

    /private/var/mobile/Library/Caches/com.apple.springboard.sharedimagecache/Persistent

    and respring

    Winterboard

    [email protected]

    Your.theme/Bundles/com.apple.springboard

Edit: and yes you can make it transparent

You guys have the know how. That change is easy for you. There are probably 9 out of 10 people who don't. So for them who want this, its cool.

Yes, but we are also willing to teach.

Give a man a fish and he can eat for the day. Teach him to fish and he can feed himself for a lifetime.

All this tweak is doing is cutting a small piece of WinterBoard functionality out and making it accessible as its own sub pane in the Settings app. I just don't understand how this is something needed.

Believe me I for one know you are willing to teach. There are just a lot of people not willing to learn and others that don't like fish. I don't see a need for this either. Some might think its cool. There are quite a few useless and unpractical tweaks out there but I guess something for everyone.
