On Tuesday, the highly popular Dropbox-owned Mailbox e-mail client for iOS has been updated, bringing the application up to version 1.7.0.

The update is significant for a number of users, in that support has finally been added for iCloud and Yahoo e-mail accounts. Users of either of these e-mail services can now send and receive e-mails using the Mailbox application.

In addition, the application has received the ability to synchronize your e-mail accounts in the background while you're doing other things, an option to disable the sometimes annoying "help me get to zero" banner, and an option to disable the "swipe to open" drawer. A number of bug fixes have also been added to improve the application's stability and performance for the end user.

Existing users of the Mailbox application for iOS will find the update under the Updates tab in the App Store application. Alternatively, you can download the latest version of Mailbox for free via this App Store link.
