The developers behind the highly popular Cut the Rope game for iOS have announced their plans to release a sequel to the game next week dubbed Cut the Rope 2. The developers originally announced their plans to release a sequel back in September. ZeptoLab pegs the release date on December 19th, next Thursday.

In the sequel, Om Nom appears to be missing as a part of the game's storyline. There are also a handful of new characters and locations that players will become familiar with throughout the gameplay.

The developers note that you can visit the game's Web site for the latest news on the game, but it appears that the Web site hasn't even been updated with the announced release date yet. We will keep you updated on the latest.
