And I haven't seen the video, but from reading the article I hope apple is paying R.Petrich for stealing Deep End from him.
What's even funnier is he called that function "Parallax!"

Overall, they added some nice features, and I'm loving the frosted-glass look and *some* of the icon redesigns. I'm so glad the gray linen and glossy plastic elements will be gone.

I'll still wait for a jailbreak to upgrade (though it sounds like p0sixninja is already making good progress), but it seems like I'll need *far* fewer tweaks to get my phone the way I like it.

Impressive stuff for the most part.

I must say, I'm impressed by what Apple has done w/ iOS 7. It's not mind-blowing (only because we have most of these features w/ a Jailbreak or on Android) but its definitely a step in the right direction. It actually feels like they thought about the consumer again instead of their control.

    That said:
-Do I want iOS 7? Very much so!

-Is it worth losing the JB? Not yet, Betas are unfinished and buggy. I can't risk losing a JB AND eventually resorting to a 6.1.4 downgrade

-Will I get iOS 7 when its public? Of course, cuz I'm getting the 5S! I hope Control Ctr. worx on Lockscreen, as well.

HOLY BATMAN IT STILL DOESN'T ALLOW YOU TO JUST CLICK REPLY FOR A TEXT/WHATSAPP!!!! REALLLLLLLLLY? Guess we still need a jailbreak for BiteSMS/Messages+. Holy Batman what are they thinking?????????

Oh, it does multitasking? BB did that 10 years ago. It has live weather app. Android 2 years ago. built-in photo filters... we've never seen that before, either! Can you still move a photo to an album and delete it from the camera roll? You double tap the home button and it shows you tiles? Like, OMG that's so awesome!!! Yeah, a year behind on that one, too.

Amazing how Fanboys are like, "omg this is so cool. this is the sh!", but constantly bash Android and BB. All you did was steal from their ideas. smh.

Apple = No longer innovative. I hope the SBSettings owner sues Apple.
Ha. I like the features but not so much the new color change. But that's 1 out of millions. iTunes/AppStore is the money maker so no file management system. Also their still keeping it simple!!

I definitely am really impressed! I'm wondering also since I have a pioneer radio with "app mode" , if they can integrate it to the radio

    I can't wait

Here's my two cents: With all that's done in iOS 7 much of what I jailbreak for is gone, little tweaks such as browser changer and color keyboard and atom still aren't there, but those are just fun gimmicks. Am I incredibly impressed with what apple has done? Yes. Am I going to lose my jailbreak? Possibly. You can't say it's not worth it until you've seen videos of the beta running on real iPhones, if people say that iOS 7 is worth losing a jailbreak I probably will update. I know the drawbacks, but you just have to weigh your options. Just my opinion though.

Cant see how the new icon style thing will work unless they intend to make every single developer change their application icons apple are going to end up with a system where the stock icons look completely different to your app store icons removing any consistency in the style

I don't know if you've worked with Xcode, but changing a icon is literally a matter of dragging and dropping a picture into the app project

Haven't seen it yet. Only thing I'd like to comment on it is have the sbsettings and Ryan petrich (parallax) patented their idea? Otherwise good luck fighting apple I guess. I also agree with why are people complaining "stealing" from jailbreak community" it's kinda the point in my opinion

    Do not like.

I wish this plain & ugly trend Microsoft started with Windows Phone 7 would just go away.

Now it matches Jelly Bean, Windows Phone 8, and Windows 8. Yay. Whenever they get to changing Mac OS to look like this, then everything will look the same. Yay.

I, too, am glad that Apple is taking from the JB Scene. Less tweaks to install that take up space on my device! But, I'm still gonna need: MyWi, Quick Reply, 5 columns, Gridlock, Display Recorder, ScrollingBoard, CallBar & Wraparound.

Here's what I'm most excited about!

Music.app - I'm excited about iTunes Radio! One less app on my device (Pandora)!!! It'd be cool if, eventually, they add song recognition and then I could ditch Soundhound.

NC on Lockscreen - I wonder if Notifications can collapse now?

Safari looks DOPE! Unlimited pages and cool UI = Win!

    Weather eliminates TWC, now!!!

    Unlimited apps in folders

    Airdrop

    Camera & Photos.app

Looks much better than that mockup, but I still hate that Game Center icon.

You can't say certain things haven't come from android, the new multitasking window looks identical to HTC Sense and from what I've read Palm Pre, the auto update of apps is from Android, the way tabbed browsing of Safari is exactly the same as Google Chrome, camera filters have been in since 4.0 as far as I know. The new lock screen with the bubbles could be mistaken for jelly bean with phase beam. At first when I saw the airdrop feature I thought I was exactly the same as one of samsungs all share features were you share pics with someone else over the same Wifi.

Not saying it's a bad thing, it's the way of the world. Companies will borrow stuff but no point in denying a lot of features have been taken from elsewhere.

I know it has no functional purpose, but the new parallax wallpaper thing is badass.

Airdrop has been on macs since...they are competing with Dropbox , tabbed browsing has been on regular safari before any mobile Os had them...autoupdate isn't really an android exclusive...camera filters aren't really an exclusive either...these features have been in apps before implemented on ANY mobile OS....new lock screen...just because of bubbles? Bubbles aren't an exclusive design feature but ok...it may have similarity to them. The multitasking tool I say was taking from previous jailbreak tweaks before android had a full fledged multitask. I remember a jailbreak tweak for multitasking when the HTC EVO first came out on sprint...

Now I will say, while there's really Mobile OS exclusives that android has like using the proximity sensors to scroll a page or navigate your device, some features are taken from jailbreak tweaks from earlier iOS days that developer made for the iDevices first.

I strongly agree with you that the majority of features came from elsewhere...but I know for a fact that these features (with regard to the notification center) came exclusively from android.

That is definitely a jailbreak tweak apple took the idea from. I remember having that feature on iOS 3

    Parallax is an actual word.

    par·al·lax [par-uh-laks] noun
    1.
the apparent displacement of an observed object due to a change in the position of the observer.
