Granted, the same thing still happens today, as for content on it, people just have to get the ID's through other apps. lol.

Moral of the story ... If your developing, inquisitive children want to see inappropriate things, you have to be proactive. They will find ways around everything. Blocking one app won't even slow them down in the slightest. It just stops the people that were intending to use it for their own reasons in the first place.

We don't all fit in the same moral bubble. Some of us stray, and we should be able to do so on our own accord.
Interesting,I do not yet own an iphone 4 so I had no idea you have to know the other person

Asking for help is different from being stupid. Fanboys can rot in @#$%!

They should just add a feature that allows users to report things like this. More than a few complaints would get their number banned.

I sure hope your little girl doesn't watch TV, use the internet, or even go outside your house. She will be exposed to bad things! Come on people! I hope you don't really believe the post you made. Everyone is exposed to everything unless you keep em' caged up in your house with no outside media. The corporate giants need to leave the censorship to the adults. Your little girl shouldn't be using someone else's iPhone in the first place. And if she is, I would hope the owner would be aware of the app since they downloaded it.
The main point here is people need to be responsible for themselves and their children. You should not rely on big corporations, schools or governments to regulate your common sense issues in life!
To answer your question... NO, i don't think Apple should remote kill anything. Well, there is 1 exception. They should kill any device that allows ignorant people like you, who don't read all the posts and understand what the post means before adding their 2 cents.

You didn't see in any of my posts that "I said WE SHOULD ALL RELY ON CORPORATIONS, SCHOOLS, OR GOVERNMENT"!!!

So, your barking up the wrong tree.

Go grab your picket and protest somewhere else!!!

Oh yeah, by the way... I don't even have any children. I will say this AGAIN... I can understand why Apple pulled this app. They don't want ANY ties with it what-so-ever.

You probably cross more true 'predators' at your local Wal-Mart, than you do on these apps. Don't close your mind. There are men, and women alike, that do enjoy things like you are seeing on these apps. That is their choice. All because you see some 20-60yr old wanking on an app, does not mean he is a sexual predator hoping to catch your 10yr old niece on this app.
You have some points that I agree. I am not being an extremist. People are missing the point. If you want to flap your tig-o-bitties or little sausage to some one that's fine. This app didn't allow for control. Kids go to chat rooms fact. Preditors pray on these rooms. Another fact. Just watch to catch a predator you will see. I don't believe is sensorship to the point that the body is a forbidden fruit. However, I also don't want to be in a chat and some guy that can't land a true date starts winking freely on his phone to just barge in my screen. Or worse a kids screen. As for the iTunes limits. Really?!?! It's a joke my neighbors kid managed to cost him a cool $1k in downloading apps with a parental lock.

so now apple controls what we see on iPHones. Just another reason I ditchedthe iPhone.

I seldom post, but this merits attention and comment.

Its really sad that now corporations and what not have to do what PARENTS AND FAMILY USED TO DO.

Yes, its potentially dangerous to engage in random calling with video, any old mature person will certainly know what door is he or she opening. If you get a call from a wacko or a sick person, you let them do it. its YOUR RESPONSABILITY.

Now, if you happen to have that app, and you are clueless, dont have control over your stuff, over your iphone, and the usage of your personal belongings or your kids, the problem lies in your behaviour your care and the way you raise your kids.

My sons will never get my stuff or take my laptop etc without asking first, heck I dont even have offensive stuff on those but as a general rule you must RESPECT other people stuff.

Apple had to close down that app and certainly will do it with questionable apps in the future, because most parent nowadays cant control, their kids and basically are their slaves, in fact the sole fact that a minor has an Iphone is a testament of failing to give a "normal" phone. Phones for kids are means of locating and communicatiing with your parents NOT SOCIAL GADGETS, SMS conectors or video "chats". A lot if kids have the BlackBerry for messaging reasons, not because they will answer the phone if mom or dad calls.

Too bad freedom is being stepped on, because bad parenting.

Apple had no choice but to remove it as soon as people complained about this kind of activity. What do you expect Apple to do? I'm sure the developers who say they're talking to Apple about what to do to solve this issue already had a few ideas. They probably did not want to implement those restrictions in the first place to get to market quickly. We could easily see this app on the app store again access restrictions.

Lets get two things straight. 1) Just like chat roulette this stuff is totally unsolicited. 2) Indecent exposure is illegal under the crimes act and is considered sexual assault. If underage kids were exposing themselves, the viewer is in fact in receipt of child pornography (if it's cached on the phone it's considered to have been downloaded). If IP addresses were allowed to be traced with this app, then a lot of sick perverted individuals would be getting a knock on the door. All manner of things are classified before public release, books, movies, video games, so there's a gatekeeper philosophy in place everywhere. Why not this???? Anyone who doesn't wish to be bombarded with indecent trash deserves that right. There is no right for those who want to pollute the net further. Freedom of speech or expression does not include abuse, be it racial, religious or sexual. Apple has an obligation as does any organisation to not let illegal abuses permeate their platform. What people choose to do individually and with consent is their choice, but not unwanted sexual exposure such as this. Allow IP tracking and lets see if the sicko's are brave enough then. There's plenty of places where they can pervert themselves without ambushing innocent people.

Another illuminating post from a MS brain surgeon. This place is full of it. The lowest common denominator has been found. Suspect you'll be on chat roulette while reading this, one handed?

Let's not forget that all apps are 'licensed' by Apple. Which means that app owners agree to certain terms of agreement. Apple holds the keys, ultimately, to what stays and goes on THEIR appstore. So, all apps that they deem violate those terms, will get yanked, such as in this case.

I had this app and quickly deleted it. I personally got tired of seeing psycho nuts whipping out their rice [email protected] and showing them to the world. What's the sense of a bunch of perv's displaying their sick habits? Regulation of this crap is good IMO.

We never had such a service. Our service has been the same since we released in December. We've never been in any danger of being shut down. In fact, our service was personally approved for the App Store by Steve Jobs, and since then we have had an excellent relationship with Apple.

You also don't need to use other apps to search our user base. There is a built in search function along with an invite system thru Facebook, Twitter, and email. We're working on expanding the friend finding capabilities as well.
