    Give it up? I have the right just as much as you do to express my opinion on this forum. I may come off more heated, and that's only because I am ONE of the owners effected by the reception issue.

    It means nothing to me that wearing a case will protect your phone. I have been wearing the a rubber case on my iPhone since the release of the 1st gen.

    Apple is a multi-national/multi-billion dollar company that should have caught an issue that has effected this many people. 1% seriously? I know three people I work with in Law Enforcement that with all hopes not too... experience the same death grip problems that I have.

    Apple, as any other major corporation should have accepted the fact that the problem is really there, and begin a process for a permanent fix for the owners facing these issues.

    Its quite amusing that people can stand in the corner of a corporation that denied the issue in the beginning, then stated we held our phones wrong, and then only now accept the fact that there really is a problem. Let me guess, you defend BP as well?

    Go **** yourself, and all the rest of you forum cowboys defending Apple.

    Who exactly is in need of attention here, you keep coming for what reason? So why must you keep reading this and replying if you don't like it so much? Sounds like there is something very wrong with you. If you don't like it go away, close your eyes, turn off your computer. There are more ways to fix that then there are to fix the iPhone problem...

    I am FAR from a fanboy, just ask any of my co-workers at my ad agency... I am a PC guy through and through, I hate macs and it drives THOSE fanboys crazy. BUT, I also give credit where credit's due and Apple OWNS handheld devices. That's not to say there isn't strong competition out there in the form of Droid devices, but apple still edges them out in most areas.

    Apple is offering a FULL refund of your money, ATT is reimbursing your contract... If I were you, I'd be happy that I'm not stuck with a device that you find so terribly useless. But, if you sleep on it, wake up on the right side of the bed in the morning, and decide to keep your device, apple will send you a FREE case that should resolve the issues that you are having. I know... How dare they offer to resolve your issues by giving you a case... And what's even more absurd is how they are just letting you get all of your money back if that doesn't make you happy... Your life really is rough.

    1) Why are you bringing BP into this?
    2) What makes you think I'm defending Apple?
    3) So they screwed up. Toyota is a exponentially larger company than Apple. Look at how many problems they missed. Look at Microsoft. Look at GM a few years ago. Everyone makes mistakes, even large companies.
    4) I was thinking you had a reasonably mature response until your last line. But as an equal response, maybe the first 4 letters of your username describe a better state for you to be in.
    5) I am not a left-winger who wants the government to control every goddamn business in the country. I love capitalism, and with that comes risks like these. But if you are so anti-corporation why don't you go off to a socialist country, it's well suited for your kind.

    Yeah, I agree, how dare they fix it with a case, that's a pretty pathetic fix for such a major issue. Stop with your just return it, we have heard that time after time. People have a lot more time and money invested in their iPhone then just the $200 - $300 purchase price. If it were only for that I would have returned it the next day. What about the hundreds of dollars worth the apps I purchased? What about the hundreds of dollars in accessories I purchased? I am am learning to develop for the iPhone, I need one to do that. In addition to that I have many people who I talk to in iPhone specific apps. Apple knows this and has driven their success, which should push them more to appease previous customers. Oh and Apple decided to require you to use a card for your iPhone purchase, so I guess I am supposed to just not have a phone for a few business days as I wait for my money to be credited... Stop being so ignorant with your just return it, it is not that simple to most people.

    Well at least they're giving away free bumpers... I just wish they would at least admit it has a serious problem instead of saying "but every phone has it". I think I've lost almost all respect for steve jobs now. They're only giving out free bumpers to make everyone shut up and hoping people eventually forget about it instead of fixing it.

    Yes I am pretty sure of my opinions. For starters anyone with half a brain knows they are going to redesign the internal part of the phone. Verizon uses CDMA technology for their network, for the iPhone to be used on a CDMA network would REQUIRE a very large design and hardware change inside the phone, INCLUDING the antenna!! Furthermore after all of the coverage on this issue and previous signal problems plaguing AT&T I am POSSESSIVE (as a previous employee of verizon) that they would insist these issues be resolved before selling the iPhone.

    Oh good, IF you are a dev, than this whole money thing is moot... As you should know that this is all a business write-off. And if you are developing apps that don't take advantage of the phone capabilities you can always use your refund to test on a ipt.

    LOL, great reasoning there. First of all I said I was learning to be a developer, I'm not some established company able to write it off as a business expense... Anyway that doesn't do anything for you until tax time. The app I am working on requires phone and camera functions. Yep, some, well boys, you just can't reach, like yourself. Why would you be happy with this, why would you go out of your way to argue with someone who just wants to get their moneys worth? What good does it do for you? What harm am I causing you unless you insist on coming here and reading it??? I just don't get you people! I don't think making phone calls is an unreasonable request for a phone...

    Well if those that are angry with this current version of the model don't like it but are waiting for the Verizon version why not just wait till Apple says "We got this fixed now" Then buy the iPhone 4. Your waiting anyway it seems and that would come a lot sooner than the Verizon version.
