I have a iPhone 3Gs old bootrom but not jailbroken or anything. Can I just restore with a custom 4.0 or do I need to jailbreak it on 3.1.2 / 5.11.07 then custom restore to a iPhone 4?

Trust me I tried getting OSX on my netbook and it broke it. When will someone make an easy installer like Linux has.

In the past, the dev team hasn't made any tools for those that have a new bootroom.

It look's like a few of us are gonna have to wait on Geohot, or wait to see if Spirit will be updated.

Note, if you guys need a custom ipsw for 3GS. PM me. I was going to make one for someone that asked me awhile earlier anyways.

What version Windows are you running?

  17. #35
Lets say you have a 3gs old bootrom and loaded 4.0 last night. Do I need to downgrade and rejailbreak first or can you go straight to this tool. Oh previous jailbreak was by blackra1n. Thanks!

  18. #36
Which is the old bootrom and the new bootrom?

  19. #37
what sucks is i updated my ipod touch 3g to 4.0 and it blows the only thing i have seen working for it is the folders no multitasking no backgrounds nada

  20. #38
On. I'm starting to get a little worried. Will we have a jailbreak for the new basebands? Will the new iPhone be about to jailbreak?

  21. #39
I don't know if it's only me but I'm confused on what I can do. Here it is, my buddy bought a 3Gs from Craiglist. When he got the phone it was unlocked and so forth but the dummy made the mistake of going to the GENERAL>ERASE ALL DATA AND SETTINGS and basically got the phone stuck in reboot. Then he became impatient and restored with iTunes and of course upgraded to the 05.12.01 baseband at 3.1.3 which then turned his phone into a nice paperweight. If I read the instructions correctly, it seems that If i haven't SPIRIT jailbroken this phone (which i haven't) then I would be able to jailbreak and unlock the iOS4 at the current baseband. Am i misinterpretating something? His model number is MC136LL and it's currently at 3.1.3 STOCK. Any help guys?

Some people's questions just drive me crazy..... And waste the time of those brilliant people that figure all of this stuff out.... Since you don't have an iPhone 4 yet, don't worry about it... When it comes out, I'm sure they'll figure it out.... I on the other hand am anticipating something for 3gs on 4.0 that has never been jailbroken......
