    Still lost like John Locke....

in the process of doing the dfu restore while closely watching the tmp folder, is this needed to do the jailbreak in the near future, or is this just a precautionary thing in case something changes?

I feel like a damn noob now, and I've been around since 1.1.1

    I am posting again:
Ok, If you are on a Mac do the following:
    1.Open Terminal
2.Copy and paste this exactly: defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE
    killall Finder
    3.Open Finder->Macintosh HD->tmp
4.Do a restore in DFU mode, and a regular restore
5.The files will appear in the tmp directory during the restore ex. PersonalizedRestoreBundle.************
    6. Copy the folder/file in tmp and paste it into a new folder on your desktop

    EXTRA STEP:
Browse to Finder->Users->"your user name"->Library->Caches->Cleanup At Startup
There should be a folder in there while you are doing both restores called iPhone Temporary Files.noindex
Copy this folder into where you have your other backups from the restores.
Inside this folder you will find both the iBSS and the iBEC
Location in the folder is in Firmware->dfu

***This extra step can be done without steps 1-6....it will give you all files needed***

I wonder why the iBSS is not showing up for everyone.
I still have not found it in the restore folders.
I have done the DFU mode and all I get is the iBEC

I have the folders the problem is there are no iBSS files in any of them
I am doing the DFU restore again and the same thing is happening.

    JUST DO THIS:
    While restoring....
Browse to Finder->Users->"your user name"->Library->Caches->Cleanup At Startup
There should be a folder in there while you are doing both restores called iPhone Temporary Files.noindex
Copy this folder into where you have your other backups from the restores.

My last attempt was to move a folder that appears really quick. There's a folder that appears for about 2 seconds after the software is first extracted, and I could not copy and paste it, so I just moved it....

Of course the restore crashed, but I got the folder. And inside was again the IBEC file.....so, I can't locate the IBSS no matter what i do. I do have the purple rain file, so hope thats enough, or will try after someone figures out why the IBSS isn't showing.

im keeping all the files just in case,, im sure the dev team will soon implement this step into their tool,, and we'd all look like dumbasses doing all these extra steps,,
