Will this guide & software work with iPhone version 3.01 ???

    Thanks.

  4. #584
Yes - you need to use the 3.0 ipsw for 3.01
Just make sure you don't upgrade to 3.1

    I downloaded iPhone1,2_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw.

    Would I use iPhone1,2_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw for 3.01???

    Thanks.

It almost certainly isn't. Change the extension to ipsw.

Sorry if this sounds stupid, but will this work if I am on 3.0.1 software? And just use the 3.0 ipsw file to jailbreak? Or am I completely off track? I have read so much about the jailbreaks on the different firmwares and I am a bit confused.

p.s I have a iphone 3g (I have to change my device in my profile)

    Thanks
    Danny

Yes it will. If you are on 3.01 you just use the 3.0 ipsw in RedSn0w.

    Don't extract it!
If it's a .zip file change the extension to .ipsw

    Try this
XP or Vista. you need to open "My Computer"
XP - go to the top menu and select options > Folder Options
Vista - Top left button that says Organize > Folder and Search Options
In that window you need to click the " VIEW " tab on top.
NEED TO SELECT “SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS "
Then unclick the option to " hide protected operating system files "
Once that's done click "apply" then ok and exit out of the window.
