GPS dosen't use data so no problem.

You would need to download the maps to the iPhone over a WLAN for offline use otherwise the iPhone would be searching for the data online thus incurring data charges.

The GPS doesnt, but loading the maps does....unless you download them. Which I believe is what he was asking.

Why do you ask the same question in 2 threads without reading the reply in the other thread?

With increased popularity, etc., users demanded more from their xGPS software. As per demand, the xGPS software is pushed back 2 weeks to A. Fix a few bugs that werent ready, and B. Add some new features that people wanted/needed in xGPS.

Currently we have revised the GUI to allow you to see more of the map, added a few cool features users wanted (Walking Mode, Terrain Maps), fixed the Search Function as to pool results from your area (sans Garmin or TomTom) and more to come.

It was decided to push it back, and Im glad we did, because though people may be upset not getting their software on time, it is much more beneficial for them. We wanted this release to be as perfect as we can get it, with enough features (and running smoothly of course) to keep your appetites wet until the 2.0 release down the line!

That is the current version of the Map Manager (Not to great however, first attempt). The one coming out here in a bit is rebuilt from the ground up, and head over heels better. But for now, that will do.

    Hi Tom,

you seem to know a hell of alot. i just have a few questions regarding this as im having a few problems.

firstly - I keep getting this error saying “Unable to get the GPS position. The GPS is not currently giving any position information” am I missing something? I have tried it on many or the modules for example

    Xgps Madule
    Iphone 3G GPS
IGPSD – which you need some sort of license for
    IGPS360

But the same error comes up for most except Iphone 3g GPS

also if i download the maps from the top of this page u posted. how would i put those on the phone? i mean i have stareted downloading them from map's in Xgps but i guess it would be simpler using the file u added.

your responce will be much appreciated.

    cheers

    Laurie

Well, for those of us who primarily use the iPhone version of MMI, there ARE no signatures visible
