Thread: actions on incoming calls/sms

    Default actions on incoming calls/sms
For a jailbroken phone, what is the process for monitoring incoming calls/sms/mail etc? I know the info for calls and sms is in an sqlite DB somewhere, and I could write a small process that just monitors that, but that seems too heavyweight for me. Is there a place to hook into incoming messages or all types, or of specific types?

I know that some sms apps must do something like this because a few have a 'quick' reply function that overrides the regular notification window.

Any hints would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,

You would need to work on building a mobile substrate plugin that will be able to catch the call and sms functions. I haven't built any yet but I would do a class dump and check for the SBCallAlert for the actual incoming phone call.
