Thread: Stock App Icons in Categories

  1. #1
    Default Stock App Icons in Categories
    I wanted to use the stock application icons as folder icons in Categories, so here's how I went about doing it.

    1. SSH into the phone as root
    2. Make a new Categories Icon group called 'Stock'
    Code:
    mkdir /var/mobile/Library/Categories/Icons/Stock
    3. Switch directories to the Applications folder
    Code:
    cd /private/var/stash/Applications
    (and tab complete)
    4. Make a script with the editor of your choice called 'cpslashdash.sh' with this content:
    Code:
    #!/bin/sh
    dest=$2
    slash=$1
    dash=`echo  | sed 's///-/g'`
    cp  /
    5. Make that script executable
    Code:
    chmod 755 cpslashdash.sh
    6. Execute this command:
    Code:
    find * -name icon*.png -exec ./cpslashdash.sh {} /var/mobile/Library/Categories/Icons/Stock ;
    7. Remove the helper script
    Code:
    rm cpslashdash.sh
    The result is that in Categories there will be a new group for icons called 'Stock' that contains all the icons for any applications stored in the system applications folder, which includes the stock icons.

    I made a Cydia package to do this and submitted it. While it's being approved for modmyi, it is available in my personal repo http://cydia.bradbortree.com/cydia
