Thread: Beta 3

Back up and syncing are much faster for me on B3.

I actually did a clean install of B2 today as I was noticing some latency and bugginess, whole thing took me about 90 minutes with about 8gb of music, 1gb of apps, 7 email accounts, etc.
The full B3 update took about 12 minutes.

the only way to get mms working is to call att tier two tech support and demand it.

I haven't synced any music yet but it usually takes me an hour. I use high quality MP3's. It'll probably be faster if you'd use that 128k junk. I did notice I didn't hang on the syncing thing whenever it was done though, it just stopped right away. Good sign.

I didn't read this whole thread but I would like to report that A2DP now works with my pioneer p9800bt, which is the only reason I downloaded the beta. Also the Bluetooth connected the first try, which it usually doesn't with my pioneer. So I think some big time Bluetooth work has been going on behind the scenes. Sounds great besides the occasional hiccup with higher bitrate songs?

I haven't tested it, but I'm going to go ahead and say no, unless saurik has done some major coding in secret.

I don't understand why you guys would jailbreak on a beta.

    Unless I'm missing something.

On the other hand, beta 3 is working great so far.

Why would someone want a jailbreak???? To use their phone however they want. I don't understand why you would even want the beta then with that logic. I mean year not much works on the beta firmware, but then again its BETA firmware and a ton of the regular **** doesn't work anyway either. For example...I still can't play iMob on my 3.0 beta 3. Thats NOT jailbroken. At least with a jailbroken iphone you have some nice things like carrier logos, boot logos, and all the apps that DO work. dtunes anyone?

That's not really the answer I was looking for. I'm pretty familiar with being jailbroken on 2.2.1.

My question is Why would you want to jailbreak on a beta?

I liked some things like Poof to hide icons and stuff for apps that i use an appstore program to replace.

Seems like too much work for me to jailbreak a beta.

Good news is syncing doesn't lag now with beta 3.

The baseband has definitely updated. Which I'm sure is the reason I can't downgrade, anyone find a way you can?

I have been pretty happy with beta 3 so far. A lot of minor memory leaks and bug fixes in this one.
