    Loving this theme!!
    Is that a dynamic shadow? If so can you share the settings? It give the icons a 3D effect looks nice!

    Like the wall of this post and made something similar. Also I think is a dinámic shadow like Jimenez and also try to copy.

    replace the css code above with this:

    #TestBackground {
    position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0;
    background-image: url('../Images/Background.png');
    background-size: 375px 667px;
    width: 375px;
    height: 667px;
    z-index: 0;
    }

    url of the image is relative to where your image file is. my theme has folders like:
    Images
    Css
    JavaScript

    since the css file is located in the Css folder, when you point to the images folder, you have to go up one level, indicated by the ../
    if you just put background-image: url('/Images/Background.png'); it will not work because it is looking for a folder named Images inside the Css folder.. make sense? to make it really easy you can just put the image file in the same directory as the .css file, then use background-image: url('Background.png');
    Thanks alot Michael,

    it worked perfectly now im gone paste your tutorial in my how to do things pdf

    @michaelrw nice first theme and more so thank you for the set of code that is easy to understand especially for us non-techie.

    a question, would it be possible to add in the code a link to a folder containing all weather icons (like a central weather icons folder), so that we do not keep on downloading weather icons with each theme (am i making sense lol)?

    @delutedsoul - you always have a wonderful way of putting your own "twist" to themes shared, thanks for sharing the ideas

    thank you for the kind words. I really tried to write the code using Ids that make sense and are easy to understand and process. Anyone with any sort of analytical skills should be able to read through the code (all of the html/css, most of the js) and make sense of what is going on and how the different pieces interact.

    with respect to the icons.. its really a matter of preference. It should be possible to link to any folder that contains icon sets, then use a variable to set which icon set is active. I actually did this in my theme, because the base i started with did not have a variable, users would have to directly modify the script to change the icon sets. However, the way i have it set up, it still is only looking within the theme folder, not outside of it.
    We could maybe create a folder in var/mobile/Library/Groovyboard/ and call it WeatherIcons.. you could then keep all of your icon sets in there, and then enable them in the GB settings. However, each script for each theme you have installed would have to be written to support this method. The real problem would be getting authors to change the way the write this, and get everyone on board, so to speak. If this style is not adopted by the community at large, then it just wont take hold. Does that make sense? It doesnt matter if i do it with my theme, because if nobody else does it, then it wont really save you any time or add any convenience

    yes totally make sense. agree it is a matter of preference, i think the idea came about when we use hd weather icons which are quite large to download all the time, for most of the themes i see weather icons are not so big that it is not really a pain downloading and storing them in the phone each time.

    again many thanks for your time and looking forward to your theme 2, 3 .....nth

    back to "regular programming" on afresco
