    A long time ago I created a thread here at MMi called: "Upping our Coding Game". It wasn't well attended in those days - because, well, frankly, I was still acting like an azzhat".. lol....

    But since this thread is the place many modders gather.. I figure I'll share a few things I've learned along the way.

    When I set out to do the NewD Mod of UniAW7.1_WW3.. I was thinking.. boy it would be great if the user could just turn on and off my mod elements with a single switch called "NewD_Mod = true;" in the config.js.. I wondered - could adding new elements (div) to the html doc and could the css stuff (top: 30%, etc) all be accomplished in Javascript (the main.js file) easily - that wouldn't make modders lose their mind?... Well the answer is yes.. It's real easy..

    Once all new html stuff and its positioning info (css) is in the main.js - then you can simply add a "if (NewD_Mod == true) { do these things.... }.. and your mod becomes a switch users can turn on and off - so they don't have to have to different widgets in their LockHTML or SBHTML folders.

    Firstly the most simple.. which is what all modders do.. Change around the position of stuff in the style.css document. It just looks a little different in Javascript. You want to add any of these changes near the end of the dealWithWeather() function. Let's say you want to move the position of the city. Go to your style.css.. and copy the section of text there that looks like this:
    Code:
    #city {
    	position: absolute;
    	top: 3.65%;
    	left: 0%;
    	width: 100%;
    	height: 4%;
    	font-size: 5.0vw;
    	text-align: center;
    	text-shadow: black -1px 1px 1px, black -2px 2px 3px;
    	z-index: 999;
    }
    Then simply paste it as the last element in your dealWithWeather function in the main.js.
    Now.. we have to reformat it a bit from the way it's written in a css document to have it become Javascript. Here's how the above looks in Javascript
    Code:
    $("#city").css({
    'position':'absolute',
    'top':'3.65%',
    'left':'0%',
    'width':'100%',
    'height':'4%',
    'fontSize':'5.0vw',
    'textAlign':'center,
    'textShadow':'-1px 1px 1px black, -2px 2px 3px black',
    'z-index':'999'
    });
    Then once you have the css data reformatted above (notice the placement of the textShadow color name, "black" (or hex value), AFTER the px numbers in javascript rather than in front of the px numbers in css) all you need to do is change those values to where ever you want the #city to be in your mod. The Javascript will OVERRIDE the numbers in the CSS file itself..

    Notice how the names of the css parameters change from their name with the 'hyphen' in a style.css file (font-size) to their 'camel coding name' (fontSize) when used in Javascript.

    Then do the same thing for all other elements you want to mod to make your own. Then at the end.. if you want it all triggered by a switch in config.js just add a variable like:
    var myMod = true;

    Then make your new Javascript css code look like this:
    Code:
    if (myMod == true) {

    $("#city").css({
    'position':'absolute',
    'top':'3.65%',
    'left':'0%',
    'width':'100%',
    'height':'4%',
    'fontSize':'5.0vw',
    'textAlign':'center,
    'textShadow':'-1px 1px 1px black, -2px 2px 3px black',
    'z-index':'999'
    });
    ....lots of other css changes here......

    }
    Happy Modding!
    Grant

    No clue. But it's too late to upgrade now anyway. The 10.1.1 signing window closed last night. And 10.2 isn't going to be jail breakable - at least not yet.

  9. #11606
    Wow! But it's no jailbreak on iPhone 5 iOS 10.1.1 as far as my knowledge goes.

    No way to know yet. The jailbreak process for 9.0.2 and 9.3.3 was only for 64 bit devices. But this jail break could have an entirely different process that could help 32-bit devices.

    And I just found out. 10.1.1 is STILL OPEN! You got bad info from someone!

    Gotta say I'm loving have the NewD Mod of UniAW7.1_WW3 running in the Yalu JB on my 7Plus! So glad to be JB again on my daily phone.

    XenHTML isn't quite ready for iOS 10 yet. So this is running in AnemoneHTML.

    The white screen when using Mach tool is all normal. Please read all that I wrote earlier.

    The Optitheme error message is also normal. Ignore it.

    Yes. You need Widget Weather 3 running for U7 to work.
