i did it mostly with uniaw and adding just a simple ''//'' would break it

  2. #11042
Yeah, okay. But have you analyzed the broken widget(with developer tools)?

    Maybe is this the issue...
When you // out the line for GroovyPlus code you need to take off the // in front of jQuery.get to make the widget work in LockHTML4.

Can you zip up your main.js, Pibe, and let me look for errors. Did you ever get it to work properly using Filza?

I like Filza too except it has a known bug (at least it did in 8.4 and 9.0.2) that unarchives zip files incorrectly and adds an extra surrounding folder. That's the reason I can't use Filza. Maybe they fixed that bug in 9.3.3.
I've had that happen too with iFile. Had to delete and use Filza for all editing purposes. iFile would add line breaks and wouldn't save changes made sometimes so just discarded it entirely.

So your "expert" analysis leads you to believe that we all must've just pirated iFile?

Have you analyzed the line break issue (that would be my best guess) or is this just an assumption you made here?

Yes, adding line breaks would happen literally every single time I edited any file in iFile.

  15. #11052
Strange-never experienced that and I am working every single day with iFile!

Must be a tweak (maybe a Keyboard tweak) or the system itself (iPhone type and so on)

    No issues with :

    iPhone 6 on
    iOS 9.3.3

    German (modified) keyboard

I have no problem with my LS widget, they are already canverted or comanded out (GL+) ....
I just tried the way to modify them with ifile and it brokes the widget, atm I don't need to convert nothing.
    Thanks for the offer NewD!

    Edit

Now I HAVE heard of that happening - and saw many widgets I went to edit have loads of spaces between each line of code after someone edited in iFile. Very annoying side effect for some people as far back as iOS 5. But I've never experienced it personally..

Aha!! YOu know, theWay, this is a very interesting thought - as some time ago - it was driving Ian and Marty and several of us crazy that some tool, maybe iFile or computer was changing all double quotes " to the curly type... which I can't even create here for you to see since it's not on an American English keyboard on our phones or computers. If any " are getting turned into the curly type of quote that's on some foreign keyboards - that could explain why iFile is breaking widgets. I think Pibe and Meth are both out of the US and using alternate keyboards? I wonder if that could have something to do with it for the people having trouble with widgets breaking?

Padgoi - I think you're in US right? TheWay - are you in US or Britain?

Padgoi - have you ever had a widget break after editing something in the js in iFile? We should probably start a thread about this issue only.

I am from Germany like the iFile Carsten Heinelt too!

Oh. I though you tried and iFile broke your widget. Two conversations going on here and I guess I'm getting confused. So you tried converting it? In what you sent me I don't see any changes for AnemoneHTML yet. Do you know how to convert? I can teach you. I think I wanted to see the work you'd done already. What you sent me is still set up as iWidget.

  27. #11060
I have seen UniAW running in AnemoneHTML.

I think there were some issues with the weather update.

To convert an iWidget to AnemoneHTML goes quickly.
