    Default More Instructions!
    These instructions are to help you get older UniAW based widgets (UniAW6.3/6.4, Core iWidget etc..) working with GPS, BUT at this time it only works with Accuweather. Maybe later I will play with the Yahoo side.

    1. Download & unzip the attached file.

    2. In "Javascript/main" folder of your widget, replace the "location_accuweather.js" file with the one you just unzipped.

    3. In your Config.js file, ensure you have this switch (and it's set to true), if you don't have it, then add it: var UseNeighborhood = true;
    Also in Config.js file, ensure this switch is set like so: var gps = true;

    4. In your "UniAW6_accuweather.js" file, near the top of the dealWithWeather function (function dealWithWeather(obj) {):
    Look for this line: document.getElementById("city").innerHTML = city; (it might say "obj.city" at the end).
    Replace that complete line with this code:
    Code:
    if (UseNeighborhood == true) {
        if (neighborhood) {
            document.getElementById("city").innerHTML = neighborhood;
        } else {
            document.getElementById("city").innerHTML = city;
        }
    } else {
        document.getElementById("city").innerHTML = city;
    }

    NOTE: Using gps requires you to have a "myLocation.txt" file in your Documents folder on your device, use widgetweather2 (WW2) to make this file, in WW2 settings/Extra Settings page on your device, ensure the toggle for "MyLocation" is ON.

    Big thanks to my M8 Marty.

    I have personally tested this on UniAW6.3, UniAW6.4 & Core iWidget.

    This post has been bookmarked in post 1.

    Good Luck.

    Thanks Ian! Works great. Just an FYI, on the v6.3 of the Core widget where you say - Look for this line: document.getElementById("city").innerHTML = city;
    There is an ".obj" before city so the line is - document.getElementById("city").innerHTML = obj. city;

    Nice to have this widget back. You da man!

    In Config.js, set this: var ClockType = "analog";
    In main.js, add this line in the clock switch as shown in screenshot attached:
    Code:
    document.getElementById("hours_minutes").innerHTML = currentHours + ":" + currentMinutes;

    Then in Style.css, change the part in red from 53 to 54:
    Code:
    #clockhands {
    	position: absolute;
    	width: 100%;
    	height: 100%;
    	z-index: 54;
    }

    It uses WeatherUnderground as the weather service, which requires an API key.
    Current believe in the community is that asking users to get their own API key is not acceptable.
    Sorry!

    Try this:

    In main.js, change this:
    Code:
    function updateWeather() {
        var files = "widgetweather.xml";
        //var files = "widgetweather" + xmlnumber + ".xml"; /* use this for multilocation only-see below */
        switch (GroovyLockPlus) {
        case true:

    To this:
    Code:
    function updateWeather() {
        //var files = "widgetweather.xml";
        var files = "widgetweather" + xmlnumber + ".xml"; /* use this for multilocation only-see below */
        switch (GroovyLockPlus) {
        case true:

    Respring after you make the change.

    Sorry!
    It's true, I too use to think this, but not anymore, apart from WW based widgets, I think now, most of the good API's that have lots of info (& accurate) require you to obtain a key, and it's not that big a deal really.
