    Thanks for the updated code Ian. I use an older uniaw 7 widget so the code might not work in it. I couldn't get your older code to work. I used Marty's code. Actually he made his code work with the widget. I will try to see if I can get your code working in the widgets I use. Thanks.

    Update.

    I just added everything exactly to an uniaw7 widget. Screen stays black. To bad.

    if (obj.extraLocCounty && obj.extraLocCounty !== "")

    It will come in handy, I will be playing again tomorrow. LOL..

    EDIT: Even better, just putting this:
    if( obj.extraLocCounty )
    will evaluate to true if obj.extraLocCounty is not:
    Null
    undefined
    NaN
    "" (empty string)
    0
    false
    Perfect!
    Yes!! I love the simple if statement "if (obj.xxxx) {} to test for simple existence of a value. Saves a lot of extra coding.. I use it a bunch in my widget too. I always assumed you and Dacal used the 3-way if statement (null, "" and typeof "undefined") for a reason I didn't understand yet.

    Glad you're still tweaking! I am too on my stuff.

    Once I learned the [ ? : ] conditional, the "for" loop and packing arrays I was able to get rid of close to 300 lines of code in my location iWidget. Each new thing I learn in js.. the more efficient my code gets - AND easier to read. UniAW has been my "text book" without a doubt.

    Am I missing something, I'm using the updated widget from page 1 but it still doesn't display a city name. -imageuploadedbymodmyi1454016841.549639.jpg

    Ian, any thoughts as to why when opening newest version of UniAW7.1 that I can't see any walls of any kind? Works on phone - just not in TacoHTMLEdit using your test files. Thoughts?
    (And great recode, by the way!! smooth, logical flow)

    And this is what I see doing 'none of the suggested code changes' from my next post.

    Ian,
    Given our conversation yesterday about how to universally test for "", null, NaN, "undefined" - using simply

    if (obj.xxxxx) {}

    I wonder if you think this will work for the extraLocation Switch. Certainly would clean up the section a bit. Worked for me in quick tests with the good and bad xmls..

    Let me know what you think, M8.

    Code:
    switch (UseExtraLocation) {
    	case "city":
    	if (obj.woeid != "") {
    		if (obj.extraLocCity) { cityname = obj.extraLocCity; }
    	} else {
    		cityname = obj.Ycity;
    	}
    	break;

    	case "neighborhood":
    	if (obj.woeid != "") {
    		if (obj.extraLocNeighborhood) { cityname = obj.extraLocNeighborhood; }
    		else if (obj.extraLocCity) { cityname = obj.extraLocCity; }
    		else if (obj.extraLocCounty) { cityname = obj.extraLocCounty; }
    	} else {
    		if (obj.Yneigh != "") { cityname = obj.Yneigh;}
    		else { cityname = obj.Ycity; }
    	}
    	break;
    }
    And then if you're testing for the ABSENCE of something you can use:
    if (!obj.xxxxx) {}

    Like a little later in the same section:
    Code:
    if (ShowAddress == true){
    	if (!obj.extraLocLine1) {
    		document.getElementById("Yaddress").innerHTML = obj.Yaddress;
    		document.getElementById("Yaddress").className = "FontColorLime";
    		document.getElementById("address").style.display = 'none';
    		document.getElementById("Yaddress").style.display = 'block';
    	} else {
    		document.getElementById("address").innerHTML = obj.extraLocLine1;
    		document.getElementById("Yaddress").style.display = 'none';
    		document.getElementById("address").style.display = 'block';
    	}
    }

    Yes, it's what I said in post #9220, I did this yesterday in the UseExtraLocation switch and in ShowAddress statement (just changed the code around).

    I don't know why you have no walls in Taco.

    PS, use Shift/command/4 to take screenshots of selected area's on Mac.

    If ww2 gets updated, will it utilize new yahoo feed? Hence no coding. I've already redone 2 widgets twice. I'm on gl+ and would rather Yahoo over google (only google works with street address a mile away). Will ian's long code work with gl+? I would like to know before modding code. Thank you

    Wont work with gl+.

    The code is STILL not final.
    I have just worked out a better way of doing it, you won't need to add div's in html files or change any css.

    iPhone 6+ is not capable of running UniAW animations without GroovyPlus stuff, unfortunately GroovyPlus stuff will not be updated to work in iOS9.

    In the updateWeather function of the main.js, where you see Ian getting the data for obj.Ycity and obj.Yneighborhood Etc.. You'd need to add two lines that look like this:
    obj.Yzip = $(this).find('uzip').text();
    obj.Ycountry = $(this).find('country').text();

    Then where you see the "document.getElemenyById" entry for Yaddess - add two more - looking just like that line but grabbing "Yzip" and "Ycountry".
    document.getElementById("Yzip").innerHTML = obj.Yzip;
    document.getElementById("Ycountry").innerHTML = obj.Ycountry;

    Then in the style.css file copy the section called #Yaddress down to its final } and paste it twice then rename the #Yaddress in both of the sections you pasted to #Yzip and #Ycountry. You'll need to move the top and left parameters in those 2 section to something else or your zip and country lines in your widget will be on top of each other..

    Lastly go into the HTML file and where you see:
    <div id ="Yaddress"> </div>
    --and add two more divs that say "Yzip" and "Ycountry"..

    That should get you the data.. Then just move it around in the css till you like its placement.

    Give it a try, Platini. If you need specific code lines to cut and paste from here to your widget, after you've tried the mod, let me know. But give it a try yourself and see if you can do it as I explained there. It's a great feeling nail it on your own!

    Enjoy!
